"Regular" Stores Competing in the Market

Over the last few years, many retailers have jumped on the bandwagon with selling plus and extended sizes.  I do not blame them for exploring the market as they are exploiting new customers.  Retailers such as Target, Walmart and K-Mart have more fashionable clothing to offer in plus sizes.  As a child, the main retailer that catered to full figured women was Lane Bryant.  Today, full figured women can shop on the lower end for quality clothing at a reasonable price.  I have shopped at both Target and Walmart recently and picked up some really nice items.  In January, I found a fabulous lace shirt from Walmart for $10!! No one believed I got it from Walmart!!

Other retailers that offer a great variety of full figured clothing are those that sell high end items at a lower price.  Some of these stores are Marshall's, Ross, and Burlington Coat Factory.  These three stores are some of my personal favorites.  There are many high end designers that make great plus size clothing and you can get them at these stores.  Some of the items are from previous seasons, but they still work! Below is a picture of a dress I purchased last week from Marshall's for a party! It's very cute and I loved the price...$24.99!!

I am an advocate of retailers extending their sizes.  Full figured women like fashionable clothing and will spend the penny for it. I challenge more retailers to extend their sizes.  It will not only be a benefit to the consumer, but it will benefit the retailer as well.  Don't be scared!!!!
